Texas Catholic bishops respond to federal judge’s preliminary injunction regarding refugee

The Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops welcomes the preliminary injunction issued by a federal judge, making moot the refugee consent decision to deny Texans the ability to welcome refugees to Texas as a preliminary place of refuge, at least until the court makes a final decision or unless the injunction is overturned by a higher court. Catholics throughout the Lone Star State will continue to work with all people of good will in welcoming the stranger, living our faith and our belief that our state is a better place when we work side-by-side with all who seek to better their lives and our world.
