Brownsville Diocese receives its first auxiliary bishop

Pope Francis has named Oratorian Father Mario Alberto Avilés, pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Hidalgo, as auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of Brownsville, a first for the diocese of about one million Catholics. MORE
