General information
Check in on April 1
Advocacy Day Coordinators or their representative should check in with TCCB staff so that we know you made it, and to ensure you are aware of any changes in schedules. Weather permitting, we will have a table at the East Entrance on 12th St., where the buses unload. If inclement weather, Advocacy Day Coordinators will be emailed instructions on how to check in.
Mock Hearings
These sessions are only for pre-registered Catholic school students. They are not open to anyone else.
Rally
The rally will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. on the south steps of the Capitol. The TCCB will be providing signage. All are welcomed to join the rally, to pray with our bishops and to show our support for our Catholic legislative priorities.
Lunch
A simple sack lunch will be provided immediately after the rally (approximately 12:15 p.m.), on the grounds of the Capitol. There is no charge for this lunch. Tables will be set up on the west side of the Capitol grounds for picking up the food. Participants can set up blankets on the grounds. Please pick up all trash and place in trash containers available on the grounds.
Command Central
Command Central Room is the Extension Legislative Conference Center, located on the Extension Second Floor (Room E2.002). TCCB staff will be available all day. Advocacy Day Coordinators can use this space to meet with their teams visiting legislators, submit legislator visit forms, or as a quiet place.
Social Media
The TCCB will be livestreaming the Rally, which begins at 11:30 am, via Facebook @TXCatholic. Please use #txlege and #TXCatholic in all social media posts of your activity at the Capitol (pictures with legislators or the rally, personal posts, etc.).
Photography and Videography
The Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops has official photographers capturing images and audio during the day. If you do not wish to have your image used to promote the work of the TCCB, please contact news@txcatholic.org with this information as soon as possible.
